Rumors about Sigma starting to produce mirrorless lenses for Nikon Z- mount have been floating around for a while. Even Sigma’s CEO kind of confirmed the rumors in an interview last year.

A few days ago a reader sent me an email from Sigma Netherlands where the company’s representative confirmed that “a number” of Sigma mirrorless lenses for Nikon Z-mount will “probably” be released next year (2023):

The Nikon Z8 camera has been rumored for a while, but we still don’t have any (reliable) leaked specifications. I was told, that in terms of price and specs, the Nikon Z8 will compete head-to-head with the recently announced Sony a7RV  ($3,900) – FYI here are the basic a7RV specs:

I was also told that the Nikon Z8 camera design is finalized/production-ready and the only issue holding back the official announcement is the ongoing parts shortage.

When is the Nikon Z8 official announcement expected?

• The Z8 development announcement could happen in early 2023 (just like the Nikon D4/D5).
• There is a low chance for an official Z8 announcement at the 2023 CP+ show in Japan in late February 2023 (but still a possibility).
• The most likely scenario is a Z8 announcement in late spring 2023 (late March/Q2?) and a potential shipment in/around May 2023.

What to expect from the Nikon Z8:

• Same form factor as the Nikon Z6/Z7
• Improved EVF
• Improved autofocus
• Same sensor as the Z9

Please note that currently there are no reliable rumors about new Z6III or Z7III cameras.

Actualizada, las primeras impresiones son bastantes buenas, parece que ha mejorado sustancialmente.

Me dedico a las bodas y también di el paso desde la D750 a la Z6 cuando salió, y más tarde a la Z6II. Sin duda iría a por la II, ya que con esa resolución es más que suficiente para bodas.

Es posible que la semana que viene tengamos alguna actualización esperada de firmware para la Z6II

Mi D750 sufrió un accidente y tengo que buscar un segundo cuerpo para acompañar a mi 850. Barajaba 2 opciones: una 750 de segunda mano aprovechando que están a buen precio o una Z6/Z6II para ir cambiando uno de los cuerpos hacia las sin espejo.

Me han dejado un Z6 para poder probarla y no comprar a ciegas. Quería sobre todo probar su sistema de enfoque, ahora que con las actualizaciones había mejorado (entre otras cosas hago fotografía deportiva). Después de dos pequeñas sesiones con perros estoy bastante decepcionado. Es posible que haya alguna otra configuración posible, pero he partido de la más básica y que tan bien funciona con mis reflex: enfoque continuo y punto único. A veces resulta complicado acertar con una zona de enfoque tan pequeña a sujetos que se mueven rápido y de forma errática y por eso con las reflex también utilizo zona dinámica de 9 puntos. En la Z6 no he encontrado esa opción (la zona dinámica de la Z6 al menos por defecto era demasiado grande, es posible que se pueda ajustar su tamaño). Algunas fotos han salido mal por esa razón, pero las que muestro tenían todas el punto de enfoque sobre el animal.

Si con la 850 en condiciones similares el ratio es aproximadamente del 85% fotos correctas y el 15% falladas, con la Z6 se han invertido y aproximadamente el 80% de las fotos no han quedado bien enfocadas. En todas las fotos la zona enfocada de la imagen se ha quedado detrás del punto de enfoque, en las patas traseras, o incluso más atrás.

Adjunto recortes de algunas de ellas (recorte directo del raw) y pantallazo para ver el punto de enfoque.

 

Nikon Z6 (firmware C3.10, creo que las versiones posteriores no aportan grandes mejoras en cuanto a enfoque, sólo respecto al enfoque fino)

Objetivo: AF-S 70-200mm f4G ED-VR (he probado con el Z 24-70mm f4 y los resultados eran similares)

Tiempo de exposición: 1/1000s

Apertura: f4

Enfoque con el botón AF-ON (disociado del disparo)

 

 

 

 

 

Obviamente en condiciones más favorables las fotos salen bien:

 

¿Existe alguna forma de configurar la cámara para mejorar los resultados?  Para probarla antes de devolver la cámara.

Saludos!!! El último firmware que han sacado es el 3.40, tu dices que tienes el 3.10. Actualizalo cuando puedas que hay una gran mejoría.

saludos, he tenido el 35 y el 85 de la serie art, y dejando a un lado que son muy buenos, si le añades el FTZ y ellos q pesan mucho... para largas jornadas de trabajo ... pesan 

si es para fotografia esporadica, sin problem

Claro que sacarán mejoras via firmware para la serie II, si las Z originales de momento han llegado a la versión 3.40 y la serie II de momento solo vamos por la versión 1.30

Es cuestión de tiempo, pienso que sí que podrán mejorar bastante el tema del enfoque, ya que ahora veo mi Z6 casi a la altura de mi Z6II

• The monitor now shows the shooting display at all times while tilted when On is selected for Image review in the PLAYBACK MENU.
• Voice memo has been added to the options available for Custom Setting f2 (Custom controls) > Movie record button in the CUSTOM SETTING MENU. In this role, the movie-record button can be used during playback to record and play voice memos up to 60 seconds long.
• Fixed the following issues:
  • Custom Setting f4 (Aperture lock) in the CUSTOM SETTING MENU was not available when an FTZ mount adapter was attached.
