Autofoco en Sigma 120-400

Tengo una duda sobre el autofoco de mi Sigma 120-400

Cuando trato de captar el foco a un objeto, que se encuentra a unos 6 metros de distancia,

el lente salta alternadamente de enfoque a desenfocado no logrando fijar el foco y retenerlo para poder recomponer el encuadre.

Si el objeto está a 20 metros, logra el foco casi al instante y a más distancia lo logra a la primera.

Mi pregunta va dirigida a los colegas que tienen este tele zoom y que quizás les pasa lo mismo.

El problema es que he comprado el lente en Pixmania y para que lo manden al servicio técnico, primero lo tengo que enviar a la casa central en Francia.

Estoy tratando de enterarme si esto es un defecto de funcionamiento del lente o es una de sus limitaciones.

El mio no tiene ese problema y está entre el rango de números de serie afectados.

Photographers have been warned of a potential 'autofocus defect' affecting some Sigma telezoom lenses.

 

The problem affects some APO 50-500mm f/4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM, APO 120-400mm f/4.5-5.6 DG OS HSM and APO 150-500mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM zooms.

 

Sigma has pledged to rectify the fault, free of charge.

 

The affected serial numbers are listed in the firm's statement below.

 

'This is a limited problem that will not occur in any lenses other than those specifically listed...,' says Sigma.

Auto focusing issue affects limited number of Sigma telezoom lenses

 

After thorough investigation, we have ascertained that some APO 50-500mm F4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM, APO 120-400mm F4.5-5.6 DG OS HSM and APO 150-500mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM lenses, produced recently, may have a potential autofocus defect.

 

This issue could possibly occur in some lenses within the following range of serial numbers:

 

APO 50-500mm F4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM: Serial Numbers between 10633051 and 10972000

 

APO 120-400mm F4.5-5.6 DG OS HSM: Serial Numbers between 10574001 and 10972000

 

APO 150-500mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM: Serial Numbers between 10674301 and 10972000

 

This is a limited problem that will not occur in any lenses other than those specifically listed above.

 

To overcome this issue, we will be offering our customers an inspection and where applicable, a modification service, free of charge. In the case of any autofocus problem becoming apparent on inspection, we will rectify the situation and make every effort to minimise delay and inconvenience.

 

If you are the owner of one of the above three focal lengths but your serial number is different to those specified above, then you need take no further action. If however you are in possession of one of the lenses with a serial number mentioned above, please contact us on our special helpline 01707 376 795 and we will arrange to collect your lens at no cost to yourself. In the unlikely event that the inspection uncovers a potential problem, your lens will be modified and returned to you absolutely free of charge with the minimum of delay.

 

We deeply apologise if any inconvenience has been caused to our customers.

Gracias por contestar.

Por lo visto el problema del enfoque que tengo se puede parecer al que describe, el informe que presenta Sigma.

Lamentablemente no me encuadro en los números de serie que presentan, el mío es muy superior,

de todos modos trataré de ponerme en contacto con el servicio técnico de Sigma en España y sino, no me quedará otra que enviar el lente a Francia.

Por suerte a todos los foreros que seguramente tienen este lente no les ha dado problemas,

y no deben tener idea de cual puede ser el motivo de que el autofoco no reaccione como es debido.

Hola.

Yo también tengo un 120-400 como el tuyo y comprado en Pixmanía (número de serie 102xxxxx). No me sonaba ese problema, y acabo de probarlo a esa distancia de enfoque y va perfecto, así que me temo que el tuyo tiene alguna cosa rara, aunque es extraño que a unas distancis enfoque bien y a otras no.

Supongo que lo has probado en las dos cámaras que tienes. Yo lo he probado en una D90 y en una D80 y en las dos va bien.
